About me

Yes, I used AI to help me write this.
I’m dyslexic, and right now I’m squinting at the screen, on my third attempt, trying to read this sentence.
I build AI tools for a living, so it’d be rude not to.
I’m Brandon. I grew up in the UK in a small town called Chorley, around Eaves Lane.

I was in the bottom sets all the way through school.
To get into uni without grades, I needed proof that I learn differently. So I got tested privately.
Turned out I’m autistic, dyslexic and ADD, with signs of ADHD.
Great… as a shy kid I didn’t take this well.
But honestly, now I see it as a superpower.
If something interests me I’ll work on it for months on end, all day every day and not get bored.
A superpower with side effects…
I forget to eat, and don’t know my mum’s birthday.
I did well at college… “Creative Media”
I got into Salford University on my college portfolio, not my grades, and came out with a 1st class hons in 3D Animation.
Not bad for a bottom set kid.

Then I spent three years in the games industry.
I started out animating characters, then moved to 3D modelling props, rigging characters and texturing assets.
The studio did well. Its last game looked beautiful.
Because of gameplay it didn’t sell…
and the studio went bust.
That stuck with me for a while.
Looking good isn’t enough. It has to actually do the job.
After that I went back to Salford University as a specialist demonstrator, teaching students Maya, Substance Painter and Unreal Engine.
Yes, the bottom set kid ended up teaching at a university. I still don’t know how that happened.
I’d been messing about with AI since GPT-3 came out.
Honestly? Back then it was glorified way too much.
It kept forgetting stuff, which drove me mad, so I built it its own memory.
I fixed loads of its problems. A few weeks later, OpenAI fixed them too.
I wrote little scripts for work as well. Our work computers turned off after 15 minutes and you couldn’t change it. It basically pressed F15 every 5 minutes.
Then I started building small apps and tools for people, and realised that’s what I actually want to do.
Taking a boring task everyone hates, like wiggling a mouse every 5 minutes to keep a machine from switching off, and letting a tool do it instead.
So now that’s my job. I build custom AI tools for businesses, made around the way they already work.
If you know AI could do a job in your business but not how, that’s where I come in.
I’m hoping for something more complex than a mouse wiggle…
If you’ve tried tools online that charge you a subscription and you’re somehow still doing most of the work.
I know how you feel.
I’ve been there…
I build it and set it up, so you don’t lift a finger. Want two tools in one? I can do that too.
Because they are custom the sky is the limit!

Outside work, I’m at the gym five days a week. My dad did bodybuilding, so I started at 16.
I love video games, and I have to 100% them. Red Dead Redemption 2 took me two full weeks.
I like learning weird skills, like cutting up a whole raw chicken so I’m not paying for chicken breasts.
And I’m terrible at presents. My sister said she likes coffee, so I got her 1040 Yorkshire tea bags.
My mum loves her dog, Belle, she’s really cute, so I got her a pouch of cat food.
I once got my niece a nephew card.
Anyway, that’s me.
If there’s a job in your business that you think could be automated, tell me about it.
Even if you’re not sure let me know and I’ll see if it can be or not.
